Outstanding early years: Preparation for inspection
An interactive look at how to achieve an outstanding inspection in early years’ education and a look at current early years practice and outcomes. The course is aimed at school leaders and those with responsibility of the EYFS who want to gain an understanding of current inspection practices, particularly if they are a good school aspiring for outstanding outcomes. It is packed full of ideas to support and present at inspection.
Meet Matt, the course tutor
Matt is an experienced educational consultant and a successful headteacher. He has taught in London Coventry and Warwickshire, he has worked as an NPQH assessor, been involved in PGCE and schools direct programme and has led a school-to-school support network.
Having taught all year groups from Nursery to year 6 and having coordinated the majority of subjects, with recent classroom experience, Matt understands the challenges and rewards schools and academies face. Matt is passionate about education, and is motivated by helping children achieve, schools develop and teachers to flourish. His courses are dynamic, contain up-to the minute information and are highly practical.

Further course details
The course helps participants gain an understanding of an outstanding inspection framework and an understanding of how close to this measure their individual setting is. Using a range of practical tools and the latest thinking from OFSTED, participants will have a clear pathway for action planning back at the setting. The training is very practical in nature, giving participants the opportunity to discuss their current practice and judgements with others and learn to apply key inspection criteria. Participants are asked to bring along any materials such as early year’s action plan, current and historic data including RAISE ONLINE, monitoring evidence.
