3 Day First Aid At Work

Aimed at: The course is appropriate for Senior leaders, teachers, support and ancillary staff who wish to become qualified First aiders

It is a requirement of the Health & Safety law that employers should provide a safe and healthy environment for their employees. If the assessment of First Aid needs highlights the need for qualified First Aider's, then this course will provide you with suitable, highly trained personnel.

Course details
This comprehensive 3-day course covers a wide range of First Aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with an emergency situation with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way.
This course will give participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
All successful students will be issued with a new First Aid at Work Certificate, lasting for a period of 3 years, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualifications. The course looks at:

  • Legalities, responsibilities and reporting
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
  • Shock (including anaphylaxis)
  • Resuscitation
  • Head injuries
  • Chest injuries
  • Asthma
  • Bandaging
  • Shock
  • Strains
  • Diabetes
  • Assessment of the situation
  • Fractures and spinal injuries
  • Control of bleeding
  • Heart attacks
  • Eye injuries
  • Sprains

Course Overview

Entry requirements: There are no entry requirements. We are obliged to state that the minimum age for participation in this course is 16 years of age.

Method of Tuition: This is a practical taught course. There are tutor lead sessions and practical activities.
Assessment requirements: All successful students will be issued with a new First Aid at Work Certificate, lasting for a period of 3 years, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualifications.
Non-completion: Participants who successfully complete Day 1 of the three day course and no other days will be issued with the Emergency First Aid at Work (Level 2) certificate.
Only participants who attend all 3 days and successfully complete the assessments will be issued with the accredited First Aid at Work (level 3) certificate.

A former combat trained medic within HM Forces (Army) Bob is an experienced and qualified first aid instructor. He is qualified to teach a wide range of first aid courses including 3 day first aid at work; paediatric first aid and defibrillator training. He is a professional Health and Safety consultant registered with the OSHCR and registered Professional Engineer with long managerial, practical and instructional experience.  He provides fully accredited Health & Safety consultancy and first aid training courses by either OFQUAL, IOSH, IATP and FPA.
