Coaching and mentoring masterclass: The expert coach and mentor
The course will focus on some of the biggest challenges for coaches and mentors, giving delegates an opportunity to share both difficulties and good practice from their own experience.
Particular attention is paid to:
- Building self-awareness
- Handling relationship issues
- Coaching for resilience and coping with stress
- Achieving real change in behavior
- Delegates will learn advanced skills and additional techniques to address these challenges, as well as gaining an understanding of how these are underpinned by our improving knowledge of how the human brain works.
Aimed at
The course is designed for participants who;
- Have been given the task of raising the skills and/or performance of new or experienced staff;
- Have already attended some initial coaching and mentoring training;
- Have at least 6 months practical experience;
- Are looking to improve their repertoire of coaching and mentoring techniques and extend their skills.

Method of tuition
The course is highly interactive. As well as plenary discussion, delegates will work in twos and threes to address case studies, practice the key skills and share experiences of their particular challenges. At intervals, delegates will complete a learning log to help them reflect on personal development actions.

Entry requirements
Ideally delegates will have already attended an initial mentoring & coaching skills course, such as the one run by PBM: Coaching and mentoring for performance and development. Delegates should also have at least 6 months practical experience.
