In order to be successful mathematicians, pupils need to develop deep and embedded procedural and conceptual understanding of mathematics.
Within this course participants will gain an understanding of how to teach for greater depth of understanding, helping pupils to develop deep structural knowledge.
Many topics within mathematics are taught in isolation hindering the ability of pupils to make the connections necessary to become successful mathematicians so within this course, participants will have the opportunity to explore how to make practical links between topics in Mathematics.
Through practical activities participants will develop their knowledge of ways to encourage pupils to become independent, multi-step, problem solvers. They will know how to achieve good and outstanding maths teaching.
Delegates will have access to ongoing e-mail support from the tutor. The support is available for one month after the course and is designed to give participants the chance to try out the techniques taught within the course and then contact the tutor with any questions that arise.
