STEP 7: Use an experienced independent expert for Headteacher performance management

Headteachers annual performance management has to be completed by a suitably qualified independent professional. Having already completed an analysis of the schools data and a clear evaluation of the schools performance, it saves time and money to have the consultant complete the headteachers performance management review.

When our consultants carry out a performance management review they are expected to:
› Summarise the school’s data and provide a clear evaluation of the school’s performance.
› Evaluate performance against targets.
› Provide advice on suitable objectives for the forthcoming year
› Analyse and comment on the headteacher’s evidence of progress against objectives
› Support the governing body when interpreting performance data and other information.
› Provide constructive and independent support and challenge to the Headteacher
